The GTG M&E Unit was established in June 1997. The scope of the M&E Unit concentrates on monitoring and evaluation activities, and also includes research and information dissemination. Over the past three years the GTG M&E Unit has expanded its core of activities to include more research and analytical tasks as well as outreach activities. The Unit conducts a host of outreach activities to GTG partners and their clients, serving as focal point of information and support to partners of the GTG family.

• Monitoring and Evaluation:

• The Unit regularly collects quantitative and qualitative data accumulated by partners on the results and impact delivered by GTG activities.
• The Unit conducts independent evaluations on individual GTG activities,
• The M&E Unit conducts overall client satisfaction surveys to gauge their benefits to GTG private sector clients.

• Research and Analysis:

In addition to serving as an umbrella for the GTG RP activities, the M&E unit provides research and analysis, and strategic thinking on broader issues related to private sector development, export promotion, competitiveness and globalization.

• Outreach:

The Unit encourages collaboration and information sharing by publishing and disseminating a monthly newsletter, "GTG Link", to USAID-funded projects and other donors.
