AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY UTILIZATION AND TRANSFER (ATUT)

 

OBJECTIVES

  • Increase production, efficiency, and income in the Egyptian horticultural export sector.
  • Help private sector producers and exporters adopt improved production, post-harvest and marketing practices.
  • Identify and capitalize on potential markets and market windows.
  • Increase the quality, value and export volume of horticultural crops.
  • Encourage related Egyptian businesses to provide the services and materials needed to support quality horticultural exports.

 

SERVICES

  • Identify potential markets and market requirements.
  • Provide assistance in the following areas: production, on-farm water management, post-harvest, maintenance of cold chain, product quality assurance and control, waste management, food safety, packaging, inland and export transportation, marketing and training for farm workers, managers and owners.
  • Provide assistance in gender–specific training in related agricultural fields.

 

TARGET COMMODITIES

  • Table grapes, melons, strawberries, cut flowers, green beans, mangos, spring onions, cherry and vine tomatoes, artichokes, sweet potatoes and snow peas.
